Cleaning and care
With very little effort, your insect screen will stay attractive and run smoothly for many years. Here you'll find the most important tips – for all our systems.
Video: Cleaning is this easy – Neoscenica® and pleated screen compared.
How to clean your insect screen
- Check twice a year: in spring before the season and in autumn.
- Vacuum the mesh: Gently remove dust with a vacuum cleaner and brush attachment.
- Wash: Clean the aluminium, mesh and plastic parts with lukewarm water, a little neutral soap and a soft cloth. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- Blow out the cassette and guides: Use compressed air spray to blow dust, leaves and insects out of the cassette, rails and guides.
Please do not use: solvents, ammonia, hydrocarbon-based cleaners or pressure washers.
Care by system
Side-operating systems with chain (Neoscenica®, Picoscenica®): Lubricate the Teflon chain with silicone spray twice a year. This keeps the system running smoothly and quietly.
Pleated systems (Picoplis, Picoplis Maxi): Lightly lubricate the tension cords (threads) twice a year. Keep the cassette and lower guide clean.
Roller systems (Estetika®, Revolux®): Keep the guide rails clean and always let the mesh roll up slowly and under guidance.
